ASC Daily Briefing — September 24, 2026
No new items today. The Federal Register, CMS QSO memos, the September 24 MLN Connects issue, CMS Newsroom, HHS-OIG, AAAHC, QUAD A, ASC Focus, OAS CAHPS and Joint Commission prepublication standards were all checked directly, and none carried a new ASC certification, survey, accreditation or Conditions for Coverage development. Two items were screened and closed as out of scope: QUAD A’s September 23 governing-body guidance on administrator appointment and delegation applies to Outpatient Physical Therapy programs under 42 CFR §485.709(b), not to ASCs (whose governing-body requirements sit at 42 CFR §416.41, unchanged), and the new FDA guidance notice on robotically-assisted surgical devices is a manufacturer premarket-submission document with no facility obligation. See the ASC Standing Compliance Reference for the items currently in effect. Next deadlines on the board: RAPID device coverage pathway (CMS-3487-NC) comments due October 13, 2026 (19 days out) and the OAS CAHPS Q2 2026 data submission due October 14, 2026 (20 days out); for centers that bill the Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule directly, CY 2027 CLFS comments and reconsideration requests are due October 21, 2026. AAAHC v45 Standards take effect December 15, 2026 — 82 days out.
